§ AI Workflow Readiness Calculator·client-side form · no sign-up

Is this workflow ready for AI?

Answer six questions about one business workflow and get a readiness band — ready to pilot, close but gapped, or not yet — with the specific gaps to close before you build. Scored on the six dimensions senior practitioners use to decide whether an AI build is worth starting.

This is a structured heuristic to focus a readiness conversation, not an audit and not a guarantee a build will succeed. Your team owns the call on what to build.

This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you select is sent to a server.
§ Read this first

This calculator scores one workflow on six readiness dimensions practitioners weigh before starting an AI build: definition, data, evaluation, oversight, integration, and risk. It is a starting point to focus the conversation, not an audit, not a guarantee a build will succeed, and not legal, compliance, or security advice. Your team owns the decision on what to build and when. No data leaves the browser.

§ The form·six questions, then a read
Q1How clearly is the workflow defined today?

AI amplifies a process. If the process is undefined, the AI inherits the ambiguity. A written-down workflow is the single biggest predictor of a build that ships.

Q2Is the data the workflow needs available and usable?

An AI workflow is only as good as the inputs it can reach. Scattered, locked, or unreliable data is where most builds stall.

Q3Can you tell whether the AI output is good?

A defined way to grade outputs is what separates a demo from a production workflow. Without it, you can't prove the AI works or catch it drifting.

Q4Who reviews the output and owns errors?

A review step and a named owner are what make an AI workflow safe to run. Errors with no owner are how a pilot quietly becomes a liability.

Q5How much does it need to connect to your existing systems?

Integration burden drives both effort and risk. A self-contained workflow can pilot in weeks; deep, legacy, or cross-boundary integration is where timelines and budgets slip.

Q6What's the risk if the AI gets it wrong?

Higher stakes don't block a build, but they raise the bar on review, controls, and governance before it goes live. A low-risk workflow is the right place to start.

    § The fine print

This calculator is a structured starting point for a readiness conversation about one workflow. It scores six practitioner dimensions; it is not an audit, not a guarantee that a build will succeed, and not legal, compliance, or security advice. Your team owns the decision on what to build and when.

No data leaves the browser. The readiness bands are a structured heuristic, not a certification or a benchmark.

    § When you want it built·fixed-fee, senior-only

Turn a readiness read into a shipped workflow.

A calculator focuses the conversation. When a workflow is worth building, a principal pressure-tests the readiness, designs the workflow, evaluation, and controls, and scopes the implementation in a 30-minute call.

    § What this is·and what it isn't

A readiness heuristic. Not an audit.

This calculator is a structured heuristic for focusing a readiness conversation about a single AI workflow. It does not audit your systems, does not guarantee that an AI build will succeed, and does not provide legal, compliance, or security advice. The readiness bands are our own structured device, not a certification or an industry benchmark.

DSE provides AI implementation, governance, and compliance readiness work. We are not an accredited certification body and do not issue ISO/IEC 42001 certificates or certify EU AI Act or NIST AI RMF compliance.
