Head of AI Security

This is a full-time W-2 employee role, 100% remote within the United States. The anticipated start date and final written offer depend on completion of DSE's current financing plan.

Security leadership with clear terms.

Base salary: $165,000-$205,000 per year. Planned benefits include employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off; paid holidays; a 401(k); and remote-work equipment. Final plan details are provided before an accepted offer and begin when employment starts.

Turn risk into engineering work.

Threats

Own the threat model

Map model, tool, identity, tenant, data, and supply-chain abuse paths and keep the model current as products change.

Controls

Shape architecture

Define practical security requirements with engineering and verify that controls work in the actual product path.

Testing

Lead adversarial work

Run AI red-team, application-security, and vulnerability-management programs with reproducible findings and remediation evidence.

Trust

Build customer evidence

Produce clear security responses, architecture evidence, and incident-readiness artifacts without unsupported assurance claims.

Required

Security depth

  • Senior security leadership or staff-level security engineering experience.
  • Hands-on application, product, or cloud security capability.
  • Ability to translate threats into testable controls and owned remediation.
  • Clear written risk communication for technical and business audiences.
  • US work authorization. No specific degree or certification is required.
Preferred

Relevant context

  • LLM, agent, or AI platform threat-model experience.
  • Multi-tenant SaaS and identity-boundary experience.
  • NIST AI RMF, OWASP, MITRE ATLAS, or secure-SDLC familiarity.
  • Experience supporting regulated or federal buyers.
